The High-Risk Youth Advocacy Program aims to empower at-risk youth by equipping them with effective communication skills and fostering the ability to advocate for themselves. Our program also focuses on mentor participants to advocate for fellow youth during legal proceedings, especially in court and probation settings. By combining communication skills development with legal advocacy the program aims to instill self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility and community supporting our youth.
Paint Ball for Peace is a violence intervention youth conference that use paint ball fun to gather youth in five different city’s across America. Before the grand finale of paint ball fun our youth experience a youth conference where they explore workshops for violence prevention, gun violence prevention and coping skills. Throughout the program we teach deescalation courses and how to mitigate dangerous situations which can turn into long term consequence.
RFTB has partnered with local theatre company, Black Broadway. Black Broadway infuses Washington D.C local gogo music inspired by iconic black films. D.C Black Broadway trains our youth on stage hand skills , acting skills, character building confidence building and team work.
It is vital that youth explore creative outlets and learn new skills. RFTB has partnered with professional photographer and videographer, Darryl Blue owner of Blue Visions Studio. He teaches our youth production and recording like video editing, video production for music videos, photography, and the opportunity to collaborate with local artist. Our youth also use their new skills to produce scenes for local artist under professional guidance.
Youth crime and car jackings in Washington D.C has increased by 10% since 2023. In response we take our youth to court dates so they can see realistic situations and outcomes created from choices.
We offer our youth to take advantage of a 16 week cohort program opportunity that connect business men and woman from across the region teach tm courses on to become a successful business owner.
RFTB assist in finding resources for mothers and also provide an extra layer support for our youth. Together RFTB and our mothers collaborate to nurture and teach accountability to the youth in the home as well as in school.
